With premium headphones going for $350 and up nowadays (wireless, noise canceling, etc.), it’s no surprise people get upset when parts of the headphones wear out…in some opinions prematurely. If your headphones still work, many cosmetic issues can be repaired at home, avoiding the need to spend lots of money sending out your premium headphones for these simple repairs.
One such repair, and maybe one of the simplest, is headphone ear cushion replacement. My Beats Studio (wireless) over the ear headphones have seen many years of use and the ear pad foam covering began to flake and peel off. Eventually it became so bad that pieces of red vinyl flakes were winding up everywhere, in my ear, on my clothes, anywhere I would use them.

I dreaded having to spend that kind of money to replace a pair of perfectly working (and expensive) headphones just to fix peeling ear pad foam covers. Luckily I discovered Wicked Cushions on Amazon. I’m sure there are competitors who make similar products. They make replacement ear cushions in various colors and color combinations to fit specific models of headphones from many of the big names.
I placed my $20 order and one day later (thanks to Amazon prime) my replacement ear pad foams arrived.

The process to replace couldn’t have been simpler and took maybe five minutes - start to finish. Once the new ear foam cushions were attached to my Beats Studio headphones, I opened them over a stack of books in order to put pressure against the new earphones cushions so the adhesive that peeled off the back would have a few hours to cure.
Letting the adhesive cure.
That was it and in no time I had, for all intents and purposes, a new set of premium headphones ready to go!
Finished and looking brand new!
