Shoe trees are an important piece of kit if you have any interest in taking care of your shoes and boots, but there’s nothing enjoyable about trying to remove a shoe tree from a shoe or boot if you can’t get a grip on the shoe tree.
You can spend significantly more for shoe trees with handles or knobs, or, simply install them yourself.
One of the simplest home hacks, start with a pair of basic cedar shoe trees and using a drill, create a hole about 1/2” deep. Using standard drawer pulls and 3/4” 8x32 anchor screws, attach the draw pulls to the top of the rear of the cedar shoe tree.
