A Marine Star is Born.

After so many posts involving water it made sense to make the next review somewhat related. The Bulova Marine Star may be a bit dressier than one would prefer to wear kayaking, but if you’re into sailing...or just hanging out at yacht clubs this may be the perfect watch for you.

The Marine Star is the perfect mix of dressy and sporty. Boasting water resistance to 100 or 200 meters (depending on the style) it will be equally at home if you’re working the rigging on a sailboat or drinking a Bloody Mary ashore wishing you owned one.

It’s a pretty extensive line with many options including cases in stainless steel, gold, rose gold and black finishes, both with and without diamonds, bands that include stainless steel bracelets, leather or silicone straps and quartz and automatic movements. Some have mother of pearl dials or skeleton (open aperture) dials allowing you to view the automatic movement inside, date windows (or not) and chronograph and non chronograph models. There’s certainly a Marine Star to fit almost anyone’s taste.

They’re not the smallest watches, averaging a case size of 45mm and case thickness of 15 (some models may vary slightly). Retail will run anywhere from $380 to $700 depending on the model, with most coming in between the $380 and $500 price points, but you can find them when on sale for significantly less. Bottom line, you can’t go wrong with a Bulova Marine Star watch. You’ll have a high quality time piece that you can rely on and it’ll look great on your wrist.
