There are certain items that fall under what I would term “Just Don’t”…meaning, just don’t buy it, just don’t wear it, just don’t do it. If you have any of these items in your closet now is a good time to purge. Throw them away. Donate them. Gift them to someone you don’t like.
Let’s begin.
Fanny packs
Questionable even for women, if you’re a guy - just don’t. They didn’t look good then and they don’t look good now. Seriously, if you need to carry more than you can comfortably fit in your pockets - and I stress, comfortably, then invest in a quality leather messenger bag be it small, medium or large.
Clothes that are too big
Do you want to look like your mother dresses you? Didn’t think so, so why wear clothes that make you look like mom gave you your older brothers hand me downs? Clothes should fit, meaning fit your unique body type, not hang on you like a sack. If you need to keep pulling your pants up or cinch your belt - that’s a sign that your wearing the wrong size or cut. Invest in quality clothes that fit, or find a hood tailor that will tailor your clothes specifically to your body. You’ll look better, feel better and more confident and people will treat you differently and take you more seriously.

Running shoes/trainers
Running shoes/trainers are fine to wear when running or at the gym. This is their purpose. Even passable in certain work environments like a restaurant where you’re on your feet all day running back and forth between the kitchen and the front of the house. But aside from that - leave them home. Don’t pair them with jeans or chinos. Don’t ever pair them with a suit. Don’t wear them on a date, or to a concert or even a trip to the zoo. There are tons of other options available that are far more appropriate and stylish while still being extremely comfortable.
Square or pointy toed shoes
No, just no.
Crocs (classic crocs)

Sandals (especially with socks)
Sandals or flip flops should be reserved for the beach or poolside. Pair them with a bathing suit or shorts when you’re on or at the water. And whatever you do, NEVER wear socks with sandals or flip flops (this includes “slides”).
Camo clothing (unless hunting)
Camo serves a purpose and that purpose is to break up your silhouette so that your enemy or your prey can’t pick you out from your cover. It’s not work, date or grocery shopping approved. Period.
Shorts with a blazer or sport coat
About the only place where shorts with a blazer would be considered acceptable is Bermuda (or similar) where it is just widely accepted as part of the “norm”. So unless your vacationing on a tropical island pair your blazer or sport coat with a nice pair of slacks. Hot out? Invest in a nice pair of linen slacks to pair with your jacket.
