Perfect Pasta

This one was an easy one.

The Fasta Pasta, another accidental find that I stumbled across while searching for microwaveable steamers, will quickly become a regular “go-to” in your kitchen if you’re a pasta person. I mean pasta isn’t difficult to begin with (though you can over or under cook it) but this literally cuts the cooking time in half and pretty much eliminates the clean up. All while making perfect pasta - every time.

Under most circumstances it probably takes 10-15 minutes to boil the water before cooking. Even if you’re making less pasta, the higher water volume helps cover longer noodles like spaghetti and helps it return to a boil faster after adding the pasta. Then you need to allow about another 8 to 12 minutes cooking time. So realistically one could expect making pasta to take anywhere from 18 to 25 minutes or so. Using the Fasta Pasta you’re done in an average of 12-13 minutes. Total. Clean up? Just throw it in the dishwasher when done. No pots and colanders to wash.

Just measure the amount of pasta being cooked using the measuring holes in the lid and add that with the right amount of water to the Fasta Pasta (following the fill lines on the container). Then place the uncovered container in the microwave and run for the specified number of minutes on the included chart (average 12 to 13 minutes). Remove the container, put the strainer lid on and tilt slightly over the sink to strain the water. That’s it, you’re done! Just place the Fasta Pasta in the dishwasher and you’re good to go.

I’ve used mine to make both regular pasta and rice noodles and each time they’ve come out perfectly. I highly recommend this to anyone who makes pasta at home.

There’s a link to the Fasta Pasta below. They do make one in red and also a “family size” one. I purchased and use the original clear one below.
